Innovation in Aviation - Application (IIAA EN): eWorkshop
Goal
Complementary to the Fundamentals of Innovation in Aviation Online Course, this eWorkshop aims to stimulate further thinking about innovation and implementing advanced aviation solutions through interactive sessions, case discussions, and application of theory to practice.
eWorkshop Description
This interactive eWorkshop enables participants to engage in discussions with professionals about innovation in aviation, providing a practical exploration of its fundamental principles. Participants will learn to articulate the value of innovation, understand the broader innovation ecosystem, and evaluate how regulatory frameworks interact with industry needs. Additionally, they will identify key barriers to innovation and explore practical strategies and organizational approaches to overcome these challenges.
Participation in this eWorkshop requires the completion of the Innovation in Aviation - Fundamentals online course as a prerequisite.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this eWorkshop, the participants will be able to:
- Deeper dive into the value of innovation, and the types of innovations in aviation.
- Describe an innovation ecosystem, including its actors and dynamics.
- Identify regulatory challenges and propose solutions to overcome them.
- Identify common barriers to innovation and propose adaptive organizational management strategies to overcome them.

Primary Target Population
Primary target audience:
- Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs) engaged in the development and implementation of aviation policies and regulations who are looking to foster innovation within their activities.
- Representatives from International/Regional Organizations in Aviation: Individuals involved in innovation initiatives at the regional level, looking to enhance their understanding of innovation management and its application in air transportation.
- Aviation Stakeholders: Professionals from the aviation sector routinely involved in international civil aviation, such as airlines, airports, and maintenance organizations, who are implementing or planning to implement innovative concepts to enhance their services.
Secondary target audience:
- Emerging aviation stakeholders or professionals and representatives from out-of-sector companies, such as startups and solution providers, who propose innovative products or solutions aimed at transforming the aviation industry and would benefit from understanding the perspectives of traditional aviation stakeholders and regulators.
Certificate
Upon successfully completing the eWorkshop, participants will receive an e-Certificate of participation from ICAO.
