Goal

The course provides qualified air traffic controllers with the necessary skills for maintaining their competencies required to manage traffic in abnormal and emergency situations in accordance with the Doc 4444. Procedures for Air Navigation Services — Air Traffic Management (PANS-ATM).


Learning Objectives

After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • identify potential and actual non-routine situation;
  • choose the most appropriate type of assistance that can be given;
  • manage abnormal and emergency situation related to aircraft operations;
  • manage degraded modes of ATS operation.

  • Module 0: Introduction
  • Module 1: Non-routine Situations: Recognition and Decision-making
  • Module 2: Aircraft Abnormal and Emergency Situations Management
  • Module 3: Management of Degraded Modes of ATS Operation

Primary Target Population

Air traffic controllers who hold or have held an ATC licence.


Secondary Target Population

Aviation industry professionals who have or have held ATC license (managers of ANS providers, CAA representatives, etc.). 


Entry Requirements

Air traffic controllers who hold or have held an ATC licence with good command of English (for primary target population - at least ICAO Level 4).
