Goal

This course will provide Aviation Safety Inspectors with the competencies to conduct assessment and monitoring of SMS in accordance with ICAO Annex 19 - Safety Management and ICAO Doc 9859 - Safety Management Manual. 

Learning Objectives

After successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Perform onsite review for SMS acceptance

• Assess safety performance monitoring

• Conduct periodic audit / assessment of SMS

  • Module 1: Acceptance of Safety Management System
  • Module 2: Acceptance and Monitoring of Safety Performance
  • Module 3: Periodic Audit/Assessment of SMS

Primary Target Population

  • Aviation Safety Inspectors

Entry Requirements

  • Have attended SMS implementation or equivalent courses
  • Minimum 2 years experience in assessing/implementing SMS
