Goal

This course aims to build awareness of how aviation professionals contribute to social sustainability and long-term sector resilience. Learners will: 

  • Recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as elements of sustainable aviation. 
  • Identify the current representation gaps and challenges in the global aviation workforce. 
  • Explore practical ways aviation professionals can personally engage in sustainability initiatives. 

Learning Objectives

• Understand diversity gaps in aviation and how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives can address these. 

• Identify a variety of ways for aviation professionals to engage with sustainability. 


Primary Target Population

All aviation professionals seeking to develop a baseline understanding of sustainability as it applies to civil aviation, including airline, airport, and regulatory personnel, as well as professionals transitioning into aviation from other industries. No previous background or experience in sustainability is required.


Secondary Target Population

Students, educators, consultants, and support-service providers who wish to understand sustainability principles within aviation operations.
