Aviation Sustainability – Aircraft
Goal
This course aims to build foundational knowledge of sustainable aircraft innovation and lifecycle management. Learners will:
- Understand how sustainable design principles influence aircraft development.
- Explore emerging technologies that enhance environmental performance and passenger comfort.
- Identify future aircraft and engine designs that improve efficiency and sustainability.
- Recognize how end-of-life strategies contribute to a circular aviation economy.

• Examine processes for managing the end-of-life of aircraft.
Primary Target Population
All aviation professionals seeking to develop a baseline understanding of sustainability as it applies to civil aviation, including airline, airport, and regulatory personnel, as well as professionals transitioning into aviation from other industries. No previous background or experience in sustainability is required.
Secondary Target Population
Students, educators, consultants, and support-service providers who wish to understand sustainability principles within aviation operations.
