Legal Framework for Economic Regulation of International Air Transport
Goal
The course is aimed at enhancing the competencies required to apply the main legal concepts of international air transport regulation at the national, bilateral, and multilateral levels for officers of national authorities, responsible for economic regulation of civil air transport, air service negotiators, airline and airport managers, legal practitioners, and air transport consultants.
Learning Objectives
1. Define the legal framework of economic regulation of international air transport from the perspective of the policy maker, regulator, and industry.
2. Plan to contribute to the development of national air transport regulatory and policy instruments.
3. Apply the major provisions of bilateral and multilateral air transport agreements.
4. Argue the benefits and challenges of the liberalization of market access and airline ownership and control.
Primary Target Population
Professionals working in economic regulation of international air transport within government and civil aviation authorities; air service negotiators; airline and airport officers and managers with the function of government and regulatory affairs; legal practitioners; and air transport consultants.
Entry Requirements
University degree in air transport, economics, aviation law, or international relations.
English language proficiency to successfully follow the course.
