Fundamentals of Instructional Competencies
Goal
The course provides instructors with the fundamentals of instructional competencies to prepare them for effective deliveries of competency-based training in compliance with ICAO Doc 10097, Training Instructors Guide (TIG), 1st ed., 2021 and international best practices in civil aviation.
Learning Objectives
After having successfully completed this online course participants will be able to:
- Identify the essential elements required to prepare for a course delivery.
- Analyze instructor’s compliance with competency-based training principles.
- Identify the indicators and criteria used to evaluate the training effectiveness.
This online course features 11 hours of interactive digital content.
The course covers:
1. Coordinating with the host organization
2. Ensuring facilities and equipment are ready
3. Developing a training strategy
4. Conducting effective training sessions
5. Assessing trainees' performance
6. Evaluating courses
7. Implementing performance improvement plans.
Primary Target Population
Newly engaged and experienced instructors without formal training background.
Secondary Target Population
- Non-aviation instructors and specialists who wish to upgrade their instructional competencies to deliver CBTA training courses.
- Course developers and curriculum designers who develop competency-based courses.
- Training Managers who conduct planning and oversight of training activities
- Civil Aviation Inspectors in charge of approval and oversight of CBTA.
Entry Requirements
- Good command of English language/proficiency in the English language
- Basic computer knowledge.
