ICAO Course
Goal
This course provides USOAP auditor candidates with the competencies required to perform audits with minimal supervision and coaching, in preparation for the on-the-job training (OJT) / checkout mission.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Prepare for the pre-audit stage
- Deliver a clear and concise daily debrief
- Collect data and inputs to audit team leader for the draft report, as related to area of expertise
- Deliver a clear and concise closing debrief
- Demonstrate effective communication skills relevant to an auditor

- Module 0: Introduction
- Module 1: The Preparation Phase
- Module 2: The Conduct Phase - Evidence
- Module 3: The Conduct Phase - Findings
- Module 4: Industry Visits and Closing Phase
- Module 5: ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM)
Primary Target Population
· Prospective short-term secondees from Civil Aviation Authorities.
· Regional officers
Entry Requirements
- Successful completion of USOAP audit area online course;
- Successful completion of ICAO interview for USOAP potential auditor;
- Prior experience as an inspector / auditor in a CAA or RSOO (if part of secondary target population)
