This ITP will provide Policy Advisors and Inspectors from Authorities, as well as Managers, Remote Pilot Instructors, Remote Pilot Examiners and other senior personnel from the industry, the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to apply the regulations of the European Union for competence of remote pilots in accordance with ICAO SARPS ( International Remote Pilot License, RPL, in Annex 1).

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Transpose the SARPs in Annex 1, concerning the international Remote Pilot License (RPL);
• Apply competency based on CBTA training, into regulations applicable in the States;
• Apply the EASA provisions on competence of personnel for UAS operations; and
• Implement the competency-based training and assessment process for training of remote pilots in all categories of UAS operations, including accreditation of organizations and examiners.

• Module 0: Introduction
• Module 1: Develop rules and AMCs for competencies of Remote Pilots
• Module 2: Prepare to ICAO and EASA audits and inspections
• Module 3: Accredit organizations and instructors/examiners for training of remote pilots

• Policy advisors on transport and civil aviation
• Inspectors from competent civil aviation authorities and qualified entities (in particular those involved in flight standards)
• Managers of quality, safety, training or operations of UAS or RPAS
• RPAS instructors, RPL examiners and competence assessors

• Good command of English language;
• University graduation (bachelor), or 3 years of experience in traditional aviation, or 1 year of experience on drones; and
• Basic knowledge of aeronautical airspace structures
• Passed the asynchronous online STP course UAS-INI.
