This ITP will provide to policy advisors and inspectors from Authorities, as well as to managers, Remote pilot instructors, Remote pilot licence examiners and other senior personnel from industry, the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to apply the regulations of the European Union for competence of remote pilots in accordance with ICAO SARPS (Amendment 175 to Annex 1).

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the content of amendment 175 to Annex 1, concerning Remote Pilot Licence (RPL) competency based on CBTA training
• Identify the EASA provisions transposing RPL in Europe in the certified category of UAS operations
• Apply the competency based training and assessment process for training of remote pilots
• Apply the EU processes for training and competence of remote pilots in categories open and specific

• Module 0: Introduction
• Module 1: Develop rules and AMCs for competencies of RP
• Module 2: Prepare response to ICAO and EASA audits and inspection
• Module 3: Accredit organizations and examiners for training of remote pilots

• Policy advisors on transport and civil aviation
• Inspectors from competent civil aviation authorities and qualified entities (in particular those involved in flight standards)
• Managers of quality, safety, training or operations of UAS or RPAS
• RPAS instructors, RPL examiners and competence assessors

• Good command of English language;
• University graduation (bachelor), or 3 years of experience in traditional aviation, or 1 year of experience on drones; and
• Basic knowledge of aeronautical airspace structures
