Description
"Master in Aviation: Sustainable Development Goals" is a one-year professional course offering interdisciplinary (legal, economic-managerial, engineering) training for the aviation sector, focused on sustainability. Aviation and airports impact the environment: sustainable practices are needed to balance emission reduction and socio-economic growth.
To respond to the growing need for qualified specialists in this sector, the Department of Law and the CUST Euromed of the University of Messina offer this program to train experts in sustainable air transport, with combined legal, managerial and engineering skills. Teaching covers international, EU and national regulations and European strategies that limit costs while ensuring safety and environmental protection. Activities are practice-oriented, with case studies and practical simulations.
Goal
The Master aims to train specialists with high qualifications who can successfully hold roles of responsibility, such as transport managers, executives, senior officials, personnel with responsibilities in airlines, airport management companies, handling companies, and other companies operating in the aviation sector, as well as in public and private entities of this sector.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate specialized knowledge in sustainability applied to aviation;
- Develop managerial skills for implementing environmental transition.
- Assess transport plans and projects with attention to environmental needs;
- Design strategies for sustainable development.
Structure
Structure:
One-year program, 1,500 hours / 60 ECTS: 865 contact hours (276 theory, 289 practical, 300 simulations), 335 hours individual study and thesis, 300 hours internship.
Target Population
Primary target population: Graduates in law, economics, statistics, business, and engineering.
Secondary target population: Professionals already working in aviation/transport wishing to advance their careers or update skills in sustainability.
