• Recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as elements of sustainable aviation. 
• Identify the current representation gaps and challenges in the global aviation workforce. 
• Explore practical ways aviation professionals can personally engage in sustainability initiatives. 

Course Description

This course explores the human and social dimensions of sustainability within the global aviation workforce. Learners examine diversity gaps, equitable and inclusive practices, and how aviation professionals contribute to sustainability within their daily roles. The course highlights the importance of leadership, social responsibility, and workforce development in supporting long-term sector resilience. Scenario-based activities and media-rich elements help learners understand how aviation professionals can meaningfully engage in sustainability initiatives.

This course is included in the Aviation Sustainability online training programme and may also be taken individually. For a foundation in aviation sustainability concepts, learners are encouraged—but not required—to complete Aviation Sustainability: Introduction to Aviation Sustainability before beginning this course.
