Wits University is the only university in South Africa that awards an undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering. These degrees are conferred through its School of Mechanical, Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering (MIA). In addition the School is also actively working at a postgraduate level in areas such as short courses, dual degrees and industrial collaboration. The School also host the National Aerospace Centre (NAC) which serves as a support mechanism for collaboration between all domestic universities, International partners and government.
