Learning at Horizon Aviation represents a unique educational environment for our students. Our pedagogy and teaching methodology are developed with the latest language learning research in mind. We refer to this approach as the “Horizon Aviation Method.” At its core, we recognize the student as the center of the learning experience. Therefore, student engagement is a primary consideration of each lesson. Our goal is to have the students speaking and listening within the first few minutes of entering the classroom and for regular practice opportunities punctuating each lesson. Every student is different and has different language needs, therefore, our teachers respect the powerful contribution of the internal syllabus of each student. With the guidance of our highly trained staff, students’ confidence continuously improves so that they may self-assuredly face their future careers.

Horizon Aviation employs some of the world’s most experienced Aviation English curriculum designers. Our world leading techniques have resulted in a curriculum that is unmatched by any other organization, airline, or government. At the core of our approach is needs analysis and corpus linguistics. It is vitally important to identify the language tasks that are required by our students in their future target domain. We have examined hundreds of hours of radiotelephony incidents and based our listening comprehension exercises on this extensive material. At Horizon Aviation, we also understand the importance for the students to pass their aviation English tests and with this goal in mind, we have used corpus linguistics technology to successfully integrate, track and prioritize the language that they will encounter in those tests.
