Goal

This course will provide the participants with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to develop Business Plans for General Aviation Aerodromes taking into account current and potential activities and strategic planning to ensure safe and profitable operations.


Learning Objectives

Using a case study and upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Conduct a strategic analysis and planning for a General Aviation Aerodrome defining strategic goals and objectives;

  • Conduct a market analysis including identification of future trends, current and potential General Aviation Aerodrome capacity;

  • Identify strengthens and weaknesses, organizational needs, financial need, budget, potential investment methods and potential partnerships;

  • Determine products, services and type of operations;

  • Develop a marketing plan and a communication plan;

  • Conduct a risk assessment identifying categories of risk and risk mitigation methods;

  • Complete a business plan for a General Aviation Aerodrome identifying business goals and objectives.


Primary Target Population

The training is most beneficial for:

Primary target population is General Aviation Airport Managers and secondary target population is CAA Aerodrome inspectors.


Entry Requirements


  • Have  degree of Aviation Management, Aviation Engineer or at least undergraduate degree of Business Administration;

  • Advanced communication and writing skills of English ;
