Fundamentals of International Aviation (FoIA EN) - General Aviation: Online
Goal
By the end of this course, participants will understand the diverse scope of general aviation, encompassing all activities outside of commercial airline and military operations. This includes helicopter operations, business aviation, recreational flying, and more. The course also outlines pilot training pathways, licensing processes, and the international regulatory frameworks that govern general aviation around the world.
Course Description
This self-paced course is part of the Fundamentals of International Aviation Online Training Programme. Delivered in three (3) units, it introduces learners to the wide range of operations that make up the general aviation sector. The course also explores how international regulations influence general aviation practices and provides an overview of key aviation career pathways and associated training and licensing requirements.

Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:
- Identify several types of operations within general aviation (GA)
- Describe international regulations impacting aviation operations
- Describe the roles and training process of several aviation professionals within aviation

Primary Target Population
Primary target audience:
Aspiring aviation professionals, individuals transitioning into the aviation sector, Civil Aviation Authorities, airline operators, and other aviation industry stakeholders.
Secondary target audience:
Experienced aviation professionals, including those working with training organizations or as aviation consultants.
Certificate
The participant must achieve a score of 80% to pass the final exam. Note that participants are allowed a maximum of three (3) attempts only. Upon successfully completing the exam, the participant will receive ICAO’s e-Certificate.
