The course also examines the impact of international regulations on aircraft design and airworthiness, and introduces the critical role of aviation maintenance professionals in supporting safe and reliable operations.

Course Description

This self-paced course is part of the Fundamentals of International Aviation Online Training Programme. Delivered in three (3) units, it provides an introductory overview of aircraft types, how they achieve and maintain flight, and how they are controlled in the air. The course also examines the impact of international regulations on aircraft design and airworthiness, and introduces the critical role of aviation maintenance professionals in supporting safe and reliable operations.

Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

• Identify several categories of aircraft
• Describe how aircraft achieve flight
• Describe how aircraft are controlled while in flight
• Explain how international regulations impact the design and airworthiness of aircraft
• Describe the training, role, and work environments of aviation maintenance professionals

Primary target audience:

Certificate

The participant must achieve a score of 80% to pass the final exam. Note that participants are allowed a maximum of three (3) attempts only. Upon successfully completing the exam, the participant will receive ICAO’s e-Certificate.
