Goal
This course will equip participants to comprehend the basics of aerodrome certification, operational management and stakeholder coordination.
Course Description
The Overview of Aerodrome Operational Management online course will prepare participants to implement the requirements for the safety, regularity, and efficiency of aerodrome operations. The participants will explore the certification process and become familiar with best practices in stakeholder coordination and training of aerodrome personnel, in addition to understanding an overview of the day-to-day operations of an aerodrome.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Describe key provisions in the areas of aerodrome certification, operational management, coordination and training.
- Explain the key considerations in the certification and management of these areas.
- Implement the requirements for ensuring safe operations in various specialized areas, such as obstacle evaluation and control, pavement and apron management, rescue and fire fighting, foreign object debris (FOD) control, coordination, training and other essential areas.
- Explain the relevant ICAO provisions in these areas, Procedures for Air Navigation Services (PANS) - Aerodromes (Doc 9981), with support from Annex 14 - Aerodromes - Volume I - Aerodromes Design and Operations, as well as other pertinent document excerpts.
- Explore the latest practices, such as the Global Reporting Format (GRF) for pavement conditions, and examples of recent advances in aerodrome operations.

Certificate
The Final Exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. You require a grade of 80% to pass, and you are allowed 3 attempts. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive ICAO’s e-Certificate.
