Goal

This course provides Air Traffic Controllers deployed on operational duties at Aerodrome Control Towers and Surveillance Control Centres; the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to effectively deal with situations arising from acts of unlawful interference to aircraft operations; in compliance with the National Air Traffic Services Regulations.


Learning Objectives

After successful completion of this course, the participants will be able to

  1. Detect possible cases of unlawful interference to a controlled flight by effectively monitoring the use of transponder codes, Automatic Dependent Surveillance, and Controller-Pilot Data Link Communication.
  2. Respond to detected cases of unlawful interference to a controlled flight.
  3. Respond to threatening calls and/or bomb threats received from a third party when the threat is either to or involves a controlled flight or a flight on ground in compliance with the "Manual of Air Traffic Services"

Primary Target Population

Air Traffic Controllers who are either deployed or are likely to be deployed at Air Traffic Service Units.


Entry Requirements

Should possess a valid ATC license issued by a regulatory authority

AND

Should posses a good command of English Language
