Flight Data Processing in ATC Surveillance Operations
Goal
To provide the participants with necessary knowledge, skill and attitude to enable them to perform Primary and Secondary Flight Data Processing duties during normal surveillance operations of the Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC), as well as in the event of surveillance equipment or air traffic control automation system (ATCAS) failure
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to perform proficiently the following tasks:
- Decode the given information in AMHS print-out.
- Prepare ATC strips.
- Manipulate the TopSky Equipment
- Demonstrate familiarization with managing TopSky equipment.
- Produce flight plan messages when required on flight progress strips used by ATC.
- Process all estimates received from adjoining ATC Centers.
- Record pertinent flight data information on Flight Progress Strips used by ATC.

Primary Target Population
New recruits to Air traffic who will work in the Air Traffic Control Centre dealing with enroute traffic and AMHS equipment.
Entry Requirements
Between the ages of 18 years and 20 years old
Eight passes in CSEC to include Mathematics, English Language, and Geography at Grades I or II and
Three CAPE Subjects at Grades I or II
